Well it seems alot of people have been asking for updates, so instead of doing
long emails I have put various Video clips on youtube to make it easier and quicker for people to understand what I've been doing and why.

Oh Yes nearly forgot...

A Local Tool shop went out of business last month so I managed to get a big discount on a 52" Metal Shear..... things seem to be going my way for once, after last years silly prices for just about everything.....

New miller

Well I managed to buy the bigger brother to My CNC Milling machine, and this one has automatic tool changer. I got it for half the price of my last one, and it was local so picked it up with the help of a friends truck and Bobcat trailer. Will be selling the first small machine now, so should be in profit after an upgrade cant get better than that...

A Must for all Sunday afternoon Garage meets...

110" of Nascar and F1 my Favourite weekend viewing...... Now just need a Beer fridge...

The Good bits

Yellow lead is a 50ft 110v retractable extension cord, and the red one is a 50ft retractable Air hose... The Air hose I've had for 2 years now bought it at a Kit Car show back in briton the 110 Lead was from Princess Auto in Calgary..... no more leads and hoses to trip over ......

Well I know the outside isn't finished yet, and there's lots of other stuff still to do, but I cant help but bolt up some of those little labour saving devices I've had for what seems ages now knocking about the floor.....

Cabinets

Well after setting up a friends Large CNC router unit, and spending a few hours machining all my pieces and stapling them all together I now have the cabinet backs all done.....
The first cabinet Covers the Main Breaker panel, the next will have glass inserts in the doors and will have the Sat Box and Surround sound Amp etc.... for the projector..

Cabinets

So the next phase is the fitted cabinets.......

Drywall in shop done and painted...

Well I had a in-forced 6 week break (Broke a bone in my Foot), so the only work done during that time was by a friend who came over on Holiday,(Thanks Steve) he managed to get the last Bonding cable pulled and we finally got the Electrics turned on for good. Then he terminated all the Cat5e cables for me, and now the router and modem sit in the garage permanently.
The painting was done once I was allowed (Wife defiantly wares the trousers) to leave the house, so after priming the walls and ceiling then 2 coats of white and 2 coats of blue base I really happy with the results.....

Summer is coming

Was outside in a Tee Shirt Saturday, first time this year it's nice to get back to that after all the glove and coat weiring -25 weather. Gave me the opportunity to turn off the gas line and tee into the 3/4" line I needed for the new Boiler. Pressure tested it to 50psi for a hour, never lost any pressure so happy with that.
Picked up the Loft insulation Saturday, they had a deal on for this weekend only. Not going to put it up until I have drywalled the ceiling in the Office, so that's next weekend with any luck.
Today's project is the Stairs from the office to the shop, but true to form its -8 again this morning... now where did I put my gloves ??

More progress

Well now the foamed wall has been done it alowed me to finish the walls inside the Shop. The MDF is all done ( and after sweeping the shop 5 days in a row, the dust is nearly gone aswell !!), thats was a pain but the effect I'm realy happy with, and the best bit it was the cheapest option for the walls.... Looks way better than drywall..... Also have fitted the Door from the office to the shop now.

All Foamed up and ready to go...

Have also started the second Fix electrics....

Friday we finally got the wall foamed, it had to be warm enough for the foam machine (above -5) but cold enough so all the ice and snow didn't start melting as the Humidity would go up to much as well....

Insulation Vapour Barrier

Well all the First Fixes have been passed so I've put up all the wall Bat insulation "R20", and the VB... So now with a Plastic ceiling the place warms up a little with the Heater...

The 1" thick 2'x4' MDF Sheets I got for $0.75 each (offcuts from a Mill), needed trimming and squaring up, so that's been a Labour intensive job but they where cheap so I can't whinge to much. A friend suggested routing the edges to make them look like a Brick stile finish once there painted, I'm all for good ideas so have a put a Chamfer on all the edges, and am very happy with the results... but it is alot of MDF dust.... and I'm bored with weiring a Mask..

And the reason for building this Garage is...

Just a few Rear Suspension shots..... and before you ask no there just dummy shocks... so we can adjust the suspension height with just a twist of the tube.

Getting back to my main Passion my car, I have a 2 Professional car Modelers coming to stay with me for 3 weeks in the summer. They have worked on some of the most expensive Hyper cars on the road today, they hand model in Clay all the prototype shapes you see at the shows before there built for real in Carbon and Steel...

We are going to redmodel the front again as I'm still not perfectly happy with what I have at present. What I have works fine but needs alittle more flare and passion...

They will also sculpt the Wheel arch vents, which will be detachable panels that drop into a rebate on the body. If you see any race car they tend to get damaged with flying stone ect so we can swap them out if so... Also means i can have them made from Carbon as I'll be making moulds from Hi Temp resin....

Plumbing

Once I have all the First Fix inspections done I can finish the outer walls and put the Pipe manifold on the outer wall.

Here's the Commercial Gas powered Stainless Steel Hot water Tank, it's 95% efficient and so is able to have a plastic exhaust pipe. It will supply the house with hot water, (so I can remove the old tanks in the house and free up more room in the basement), but also heats the Glycol for the Radiant floor pipes via a plate pack and secondary recirculating pump.

Electrics

To get a 100 amp supply to the Garage I've had to change the house Consumer unit from a 100 amp unit to a 200 amp so the garage will now run as a Sub panel from the house. Fortunately the incoming supply to the meter was a 200amp so now digging up the ground whens it -20, but still have to get the pro's into change over the supply from the Meter to the Unit, and get the Inspector to pass it off. Here's the Unit in the garage all done now apart from the feed.

Garage door

And finaly I have a door..... and locks in the back door so it's now secure...

The interia Wall is now drywalled to the roof, so once First fix is passed I can spray foam and seal the wall, to stop any vapours getting into the house....
